A story from the inventor of KAPLA blocks

Tom Brüggen dreamed of living in a castle since he was a child. When he was in his 20s and traveling in the south of France, he bought an old castle and tried to restore it using models, building blocks, and blocks, but he couldn't get it to work as he wanted. After 15 years of trial and error, he came up with the idea of ​​using boards of the same size, and KAPLA blocks were born. Now, KAPLA can be used to create any shape of building, and children can play with it.

Prototypes of KAPLA blocks began in 1970. After 15 years of research, inventor Tom Brueggen created a one-sized piece of wood and released the "KAPLA" block. It quickly became popular among children in Europe and the US, who said, "You can make anything with it!" It then spread like wildfire. In 1995, it first arrived in Japan, and efforts to spread the word about it began, with the aim of "spreading the joy of KAPLA to the whole of Japan."
